It seems to me that it depends on what you think the on-ramp is going to be for new DMs. In 5.5E, they didn't think it was going to be a Starter Set, otherwise they would have had one at launch. It seems instead that the new DMG has taken advice that I'd expect to see in the Starter Set and put in in the DMG as a result. That was definitely a choice, not sure how good it is.The upshot of it is that I really wish I could get the magic items and Bastion rules for 5.5E as their own product. I know that's unlikely to happen for Foundry, but it's what I'd prefer. I honestly don't know what else I'm going to want to look at from it. I guess I'm a weird case.I suppose it will make creating the new Starter Set easier since a bunch of the material will already be in place.</blockquote>
