Kobold Quarterly is Still Awesome

What's the usual split in KQ between 4E, Not system specific, and PF/3E?

For actual crunch, it is probably a little more towards the Pathfinder, but there's enough 4e and system neutral material that I find probably three-quarter plus useful/interesting.

For a detailed breakdown of last issue you can take a look at Neuroglyph's Review which ranks crunch and fluff from the viewpoint of a 4e player.

(And in the interest of full-disclosure, I've written a couple of articles for KQ, so I'm a little biased.)

To be honest reading through the article I wasn't that enthused. It seems the magazine is pretty low in general 4E content and the rest I have to convert off pathfinder. It doesn't really sell me on the magazine much, especially when I'm already paying Wizards to give me hardly any 4E content to begin with.

The comments amused me though.

Good ol' Razz. Fighting the good fight.

Good to see the magazine is chugging along steadily. $24 a year for roughly 400 pages of content, of which maybe 50% is usable out of the box for 4e (not even addressing any mechanical balance issues that may crop up). Not really my thing, but I'm glad its there for people who want it.

The last issue had 5 articles with 4E specific crunch, 8 without mechanics (including one from Ed Greenwood, one from Monte Cook, and an interview with Rob Heinsoo), and then some pathfinder articles, a couple of which had some great ideas that a 4E DM could easily use.

But its strength is style, flavor, readability, and originality. If you are looking for more feats or something, DDI will always be more efficient for that.
