Has anyone used the concept of "Temple Rank" in the Kingdoms of Kalamar Player's Guide?
The privileges gained seemed to be pretty powerful. For example, at Rank 5, a character only has to pay 1,000 XP, be able to cast divine spells, and have at least 4 ranks in Diplomacy. For doing that, he gets:
1) A "senior" cleric follower of level 1d4 +2
2) 1d3 1st level clerics
3) 1d4 commoners or experts (cooks, grooms, messengers, etc.)
That's like getting a free "Leadership" Feat.
Just curious if anyone has used this concept in their game and whether or not you found it balanced. I'm considering doing something similar for a cleric player in my game.
