I don't want to really comment on the game itself, except that after about one year of waiting for the game that it's live up to the hype from the magazines and surly does deserve all the awards it's got. Simply an amazing game... Anyhow before you all start to wonder where I was for this last year let me explain... When the game first came out I bought it within a week of release… After rushing home to play it I wait for it to load and to watch the opening movie. (Something I always seem to do the first time I play a game.) Anyhow the opening movie was choppy and I lucky to see or hear 3 seconds of it before it would cut out for another 30 seconds... Since my xbox had played, and would play, the other 30 games I took it back to the place I bought it and exchanged it for a new disk. (This was really nice of them as my copy of the game played just fine in their store demo system.) I run home figured my problems where fixed only to discover that once again the opening movie was choppy, and maybe more so than on the original disk… I tried cleaning the xbox, I contacted Lucas Arts, who was less than helpful, and so with little hope for a fix I took the game back and was able to get store credit. I bought Madden 2004 and everything ran just fine with it so I soon forgot the whole ordeal. Advance to last Wednesday, Best Buy is running a sale where the greatest hits version of KotoR is 14.95. I quickly decide that even if the game doesn’t work and I have to wait for the chance to upgrade to a new xbox, aka xbox 2 or what ever it’s called, I decide that its worth the risk and I buy the game. Now when I inserted the greatest hits version of the game into my xbox I didn’t really know what to think but every issue that my xbox had with the previous game has gone away completely. (Spoiler:
I’m on the last world, having just escaped the Sith and also learning my character’s dark history.
) So after 30+ hours of game play I can luckily say that everything is for the better now but has this happened to anyone else before?
