KotS Monster Minis

There's a list out there of all the Monsters used in KotS. Is there a list of the corresponding D&D minis? Or has anyone any thoughts of which Mini (and from which "set") they will be using... ie what do we use as the "fat goblin"?

i am surprised they did not take the chance to release a set of non random minis with each module.

i think i would pay 30 bucks (maybe 40) for all the minis i need and seems like they could profit at that rate.

I'd love that, I think many would. But, it goes against the Minis business model... force us to buy random boxes or go online / local retail and buy singles, often at stupid prices.

They are pushing 4E minis as almost a requirement, why don't they then offer at least theses minis in the past April release?

Still I ask, has anyone compiled which "specific", product, minis are needed for KotS?

I don't think it's incompatible. The main thing about the WotC minis business model is that it requires minis to be purchased in packs, and the buyer gets no say about what's in a given pack. This means buyers are purchasing minis they don't need as well as minis they do, which is what makes it profitable.

Normally, the reason buyers put up with this is the thrill of gambling; what cool rares do I get out of this pack? (God, I remember that well from my M:TG days...) A non-randomized "Keep on the Shadowfell Pack" would replace the thrill of gambling with the utility of ensuring you have everything you need for KotS, even if it means you end up with some duplicates of minis you already own.

The business model is in support of the FLGS, actually. Non-random minis just tend to accumulate on the shelves at some point. They need to figure out where to put them on the wall, or whatever.

How many people will buy KotS after June? The FLGS don't want stuff that gets stale that fast. You can disagree, but that is what all of their market research shows.

Great point; so why don't they at least gear the "commons" to support their early 4E modules. For that matter why not just correspond all releases to the minis? Isn't this a new beginning?

Yes a list of needed minis would be cool, just be sure to use a

Thalmin's comments:
- The list includes the maximum number needed at one time, some figures are used for more than one encounter.
- Some may be duplicates (he missed a level when he did the initial list, and added them to the bottom later)

Still wondering if someone has taken the time (I would but I really don't have the time) in creating an Official D&D Minis list that corresponds to the monsters as presented in KotS.
