Falen: The Dusk assailants suddenly joining this fight has his attention. “I’m not the fop you think I am, Dust,” intentionally mispronouncing the closest assassin’s name. Choosing among a set of rough choices, Falen deftly tumbles in riposte to the Dusk assassin’s closing the gap toward Tym and Falen. His movement wasn’t quite graceful, but the repositioning behind Tymbeck and to the opposite side of the assassin was tactically sound. Drawing the Venom Dagger from the makeshift belt as he tumbles, Falen engages the Dusk assassin. He’d given this some thought when he requested the weapon. The act of using poisons was arguably “evil”. And though Falen thought such labels arbitrary and typically self-serving, he understood from whence the notion came. It distressed him. Vexed him. He could attack with the magic dagger without invoking poison, so there was that. However, the Dusk presence in this fight turned up the significance of the threat. Tym had engaged the mercenaries, and therefore was vulnerable to the fast-moving assassin. He made this particular decision and damn the consequences. Dispassionate in the moment, it would undoubtedly grieve him later. He attacks the Dusk with the full intent of slaying the assassin by any means necessary. The weapon is wicked looking, almost something an orc…or a hobgoblin… would wield, ornate with dark designs on the blade and an extremely rare red onyx in the pommel. The blade sported a hollow spot, carefully crafted such that the blade wasn’t weakened. That hollow spot ran the length of the blade to the tip. It’s where the poison would originate. The briefest flicker of doubt ran through his mind before he finished his strike, slashing at a gap in the assassin’s armor where the underside of the shoulder was exposed in the joint. The blade struck true. He squeezed the dagger and whispered in Draconic, “Off with you now.” Perhaps the poison would be paralytic. That would have to suffice in the moment.
