"I could nominate you to take Ashhand's place on the outer council, but the other members of The Five could veto my nomination and that would be the end of it."</p><p></p><p>"If you want, I'll try to get you an audience to speak in the Chamber," Lady Pomander offers the Loremaster. "It won't happen until Lord Varian is sworn in as lord mayor."</p><p></p><p><span style="color: rgb(0, 111, 55)">"Assuming a certain sorcerer doesn't try to have him killed,"</span> Oakfirst says.</p><p></p><p>Lady Pomander nods.</p><p></p><p><span style="color: rgb(0, 111, 55)">"Exemplars, the declaration of the new order of knights can wait for another day,"</span> Oakfirst announces. <span style="color: rgb(0, 111, 55)">"I will work to seal the deal with Simonis. He might listen to a reasonable argument."</span> The commander stretches, sits down behind a sparse desk, and then continues. <span style="color: rgb(0, 111, 55)">"These tunnels under the candle shop must be explored. I'd rather not send any guards down there. There are still too many questions. I hope you will take the lead and find out what is down there."</span></p><p></p><p>"The gate, Reginald!" Lady Pomander insists. "It must be secured, or sealed... something."</p><p></p><p><span style="color: rgb(0, 111, 55)">"Yes, I know!"</span> He replies. <span style="color: rgb(0, 111, 55)">"But, if the Renegade has an entire thieves' guild to help him, then it must be torn out of Old City. These thugs, plus The Dusk, plus his damn Loyalists are just as dangerous as that creature. We cannot let them continue to fester in Bluffside."</span></p><p></p><p>"Or, he could be playing us all," Lady Pomander insists. "The Five wants that damn gate gone."</p><p></p><p><span style="color: rgb(0, 111, 55)">"Then... you'll need to let the Wizard Council try to handle it, again,"</span> Oakfirst rebuffs. <span style="color: rgb(0, 111, 55)">"My Elites, not even my Arcani, can do anything about a magical gate. Too many of the Elites have fallen,"</span> He looks at Vincenzo. <span style="color: rgb(0, 111, 55)">"And, I don't know if the Sectarians could even seal it permanently."</span></p><p></p><p>Oakfirst sits back and sighs. <span style="color: rgb(0, 111, 55)">"I do have another one of the crystalline flowers for them to use,"</span> he says. <span style="color: rgb(0, 111, 55)">"It is hidden away from the prying eyes of the Renegade."</span> He looks at Tim. <span style="color: rgb(0, 111, 55)">"Oh, and I was able to find that magical ring you'll need to bring up that warrior trapped under the Gate of Scales. The Elites stationed there have been very diligent about making sure no one enters through the hidden trapdoor in the gatehouse."</span></p><p></p><p>Oakfirst opens up the top left hand drawer of his desk and takes a small bag and slides it across the desk to Tim. <span style="color: rgb(0, 111, 55)">"I will leave the young man's safe return to the world in your hands Captain Tymbeck and Captain Akos.
