That's a tough question to answer since before I created this map, I had almost nothing for the jungle. I had a name and an idea that it (and the Yikarian Mountains) would act as a major obstruction from the Western Lands to the Eastern Lands. Lake Gulnulgha isn't meant to be an illithid sea, but it is an interesting idea. The monstrous (mostly goblin) denizens of Slekliang do worship dark gods, so it is possible that the god of the mind flayers might be one of them. More likely, the goblins of Slekliang worship the goblinoid gods with altered Orient-style names. It's too soon for me to know. As for what else exists in the Jungle of Monsters, I would say just about any D&D monster that could live in a jungle. Of course, the closer one gets to Qishmay in the east, the more likely the monsters will come from the D&D Oriental Adventures books for 3E. Eldred elves control Nishranneas in the eastern Arhodopan Mountains (southeast of Thayis). Most of the rest of the names for the jungle were 'created' using an online name generator, which allowed for names based on Real World locales. I use that web site, a lot. It has tons of name option that give way better results than what I can come up with. Most of the names in the jungle are based on the three "Asian Towns" name generators. :D
