Kung Fu Panda

Quite fun, though a lot of fat jokes. Some nice homage to classic Chinese martial art movies, such as the 18 Chambers series.

Just got back from taking the wife and kids to see Kung-Fu Panda. Hands down, it is the best movie so far this summer. It's more entertaining than Speed Racer, which was somewhat more entertaining than Iron Man and The Forbidden Kingdom, which were all more entertaining and whole lot better written than Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull.

I agree. Definitely liked it more than Iron Man and Indy 4. I didn't have too high hopes, seeing as it was from DW, but this movie was pure fun. Some of the supplementary characters seemed to just serve as action figure fodder though, and the voice work was meh. Seriously DW; it's better to have good voice actors rather than movie stars.

ps: Yes stay until the end of the credits for a short clip featuring the Panda.

I just saw this today. It is REALLY good. One of the funniest movies I've seen in years. I highly recommend this for anyone, adults and kids.

Jack Black rocks as the voice of Po.

My wife and I saw this today. We thought it was awesome. My wife was really impressed by both the style of the animation and its quality. We also both thought it was *vastly* better than Indy 4.

For those that liked it, I recommend seeking out a copy of the movie -Circle of Iron-. It is possibly the best movie that really shows the heart of the philosophy behind martial arts. I would be stunned if those that made Kung Fu Panda hadn't seen it.

Circle of Iron is good. For reading, I was also impressed and entertained by Ming-dao Deng's Chronicles of Tao.

OK, the existence of this film sort of crept up on me, so forgive me for asking, but is this thread like one of those Onion News Network segments that feature a panel of people being deadpan serious about something patently absurd?
