How I used them in my campaign My two cents: Coïncidentally, I just used them last session to harass the party. The Kytons were on a mission to maim and destroy (what else). The heroes being the heroes, they were well known and nobody (least of all my nasties) had any doubts as to where they were staying, so a pair of Kytons moved in for the kill. The heroes, even in the relative safety of the tavern, stood watch as they should, so they noticed the shutters opening, and lying still in bed ready to ambush whatever would come in they waited. Great was their surpirise that nothing but a large sack, filled with old and rusty chains, came sailing through the window, bursting open on landing on the floor and spilling all over the ground. Even greater was their surprise when 4 chains came out (2 kytons each using their power from outside the window) and started attacking them. En the final insult, a round later the 2 kytons jumping in and adding their 4 chains to the fray. For a total of, indeed, 8 chains in the room. Hooyaa. Of course the party won, killing one and chasing away the other, but this example shows a few things: 1- I see their ability as 2 chains each attacking at +9 with same damage etc. 2- use your imagination in making the situation advantageous to yourself 3- I chose for the option of using a standard action to animate the chains that then attack on their own to a denominated target and keep attacking that until sent to another target using a move equivalent action on the part of the Kyton. One more anecdote, in the first few rounds only one partymember was equipped with the right weapon to attack then and confidently strode forward to make 'em pay. The look on his face when after his first hit 8 chains started attacking him (he was at that moment the only threat in the room for the confident Kytons) was priceless. Luck with your Kytons, post here how you handle them! Chris
