L5R: Rokugan geography question

If the lands north of Rokugan contain a vast, hot desert, does that mean Rokugan is located in the southern half of the world it's in, or is there some kind of magic at work?

AFAIK, outside of Rokugan, not much else is known. Why would they want to know? (as a Rokugani, not as a GM/Player).

Rokugan borders on the Burning Sands. We don't know much about the world outside of the Emerald Empire. And it is how the world is set.

Run with it how you want. I don't mean to be quaint with my answer, but you can make it how you'd like to see it.

Not exactly a definitive answer, I know, but the only one I know of.

That would be the simplest hypothesis, yes.

This is also quite possible. In a land where Hell exists on earth, anything is possible.
