I have not subscribed to DDI yet (still deciding), but this dismays me.
So, what brick-and-mortar prescence does WotC have in CA that makes us have to pay tax? They closed all their retail shops years ago.
Or is it based on Hasbro? For some reason Hasbro (based in Rhode Island) charges tax when I purchase from them on hasbrotoyshop.com . Not sure why Hasbro has a CA connection, but it could be the same reason WotC does.
Apparently it's Digital River the company that does their online store stuff. They have their offices in CA MN and WA... So we get stuck payin the sales tax upfront.
For Hasbro I'm guessing they have a warehouse in CA that they ship from.
Bummer. Can't you guys get the Govinator to like.. bash some skulls and fix that?
I remember a month or so ago they tried to make us pay online tax here in NYS but we put our foot down... or just don't. Whichever. I forget the reason from what I recall it was some loop hole.
Well technically you have to pay tax on stuff you buy online... you just have to report it on your tax return... You all do that RIGHT????![]()
One of the few advantages to living in Maine is that hardly any companies have a presence here, so hardly any internet sales tax.![]()
