Today at work I was out in the boon docks and decided to take some photos. Every now and then things IRL give me an idea for D&D. I live in NZ and this is not to far as the crow flies from the area they filmed Rohan in the LotR movies. Its near where I was born and I live out near the coast now. Photo quality is not the best as I used a cell phone and X4 zoom on the bottom 2.
The pacific ocean lies under this fog bank. A pile of stones perhaps could be a ruin or a cairn of rocks or remnants of a Druidic site. I thin green line of crops (Kale IRL AFAIK) could imply some sort of humanoid habitation nearby.
A small forest set in a dry landscape with rthings like Giants and mist Dragons perhaps hiding in it.
The forest stretcheds fopr several miles/kilometres with a small range in the distance.
Yeah so som RL inspiration for me (advantage on D&D homebrew adventure design rolls)
