Laptop screen problems

I have noticed that the left side of my laptop's screen turns a light red when on pages with a white background. It is about a fourth of the screen that turns light red. This just started happening today.

Try booting up in a different OS, like with an Ubuntu boot CD. If the screen is still funky it's a hardware problem and you'll probably want to take it in to the shop. If not, it's probably a software problem and you should try updating your drivers or possibly reinstalling your OS.

Heh, I do not have access to a different OS. I reinstalled my OS(Windows XP) back in November due to a virus. I will have to ask one of my more computer savvy friends and see what he thinks.

Sure you do, just go to ubuntu.com, download the ISO and burn it to a CD. It's free!

You might want to try booting up in safe mode with networking. Since that uses a minimal set of drivers, it should help you isolate if it's a driver issue or not.
