The halflings were already wiped out by the humans under the control of the dragon overlords (Gnomes however died off of some plague that the pc's failed to stop many years ago, when i ran 2nd edition). So i figgered making them a little tougher to survive is a good thing, because no one likes thier brand new pc to be hacked to death 5 minutes into the first adventure by a crowd of commoners <img src="https://cdn.jsdelivr.net/joypixels/assets/8.0/png/unicode/64/1f642.png" class="smilie smilie--emoji" loading="lazy" width="64" height="64" alt=":)" title="Smile    :)"  data-smilie="1"data-shortname=":)" /></blockquote>
