That section was probably written before the feat, because no references to it are made and they suggest different ways (RP, pay, and negociation) to attract cohorts. Don't say anything about followers. I would suggest that cohorts should be considered fanatic ("seeking no reward but the opportunity to serve alongside the [leader] PC" and followers to be similarly "fanatic" (requiring only living costs) hirelings.The ELH probably have an extended Leadership table, since the normal feat only allow followers of 6th level (with a Leadership score of at least 21), because Prestige Classes usually requires to be at least 5th level to qualify, and 6+4>6.</blockquote>
