The pick-up game went well, but very different than I had expected. It will probably work out to two Story Hour chapters, the first of which will be up by tonight. The group choose not to fight the trio in the cemetery, waiting until they were back in the city. The players then each got their other two characters as well. They caught two of the three people they were after, following a rather interesting battle on multiple rooftops. The questioning of these prisoners at the next game will also reveal a rather interesting plot twist, when they tell the group that their primary objective in the city was to PREVENT the Queen from being assassinated. Kyramus, I've figured out a way to work Namfoodle into the story. He has arrived in the city with a small group of gnomes. These gnomes are the leader, spouse and heir of a distant gnomish Kingdom named Kalephornyah. This leader, Knevadah, is a 7th level rogue, and Namfoodle was his teacher and mentor. Namfoodle has been given the official title of Lord Chamberlain. Over the weekend I also found a large plastic scorpion at a yard sale. At 25mm scale it would be around 75 feet long. I plan to use this as a summoned mount for the Pharoah to ride on. During the game the Jawlt Army was preoccupied at the east gates of the city, and Hargash and 13 of his followers arrived via the southwest gate. The Silver Moon Adventurers will be informed of this in the AM (plus given info on six other groups who have come to he city that they have not met yet, including the abovementioned gnomes). Last night the two players brainstormed about the clues to the target clue locations, guessing two right and two wrong, which is about what I had expected. I am personally hoping that the group determines the identity of no more than three targets, in order to keep them guessing and on edge.
