So what started as a joke among my players cause I had them rescue an 8 year old girl looking for her lost teddy bear, I have thrown them into the world of Runeterra, the world that the popular game League of Legends is from. The campaign that I have them going through is as such:
They are from a North West port town that has recently been attack by what is later to be found out as an invasion by the Shadow Isle. After being liberated by the might of the Damacia army, they are lead back to the capital and thus inducted into their army with one main goal. Find out who sent the army, what are their intentions, and if there was any way they could come to reason.
To make most of the encounters with the champions of the game, I have it set in the time before the League was actually created. Because of this, I had them go on a bit of a side quest to save Jarvin the Fourth from his execution, as described in his lore. From here I intend on the party to go South to meet up with a profit in the dessert, Malzahar, to get more information on the Shadow Isle and be more prepared for their journey.
Here is the problem that I have with this plan. From the area I have them setting off at, they have to cross the Great Barrier and into the dessert. The journey will probably be an estimated 7+ in game days for them with many encounters on the way that may kill them. I want to try and make it more than just fighting, like most people do, but I've already exhausted all but 2 riddles/puzzles. What I am getting at is, for those that have an idea of the world lay out already, that I want to have them go under the mountain range, though a maze of sorts. Does any one have some riddle/puzzle suggestions that could be related to this world, but not to any champion (save maybe ancient ones that where newly awakened) or the League itself?
