Not sure there is anything I will use from this, but damn if it isn't entertaining, and character death, so much character death that you would think the players were Spinal Tap Drummers. Unfortunately for me it takes place in Post-War Greyhawk and the assumptions do not align with my 576 CY era campaign. I can only hope my campaign will be this good. Sadly, I cannot find a current link to the story. This came out in the stone age of this website back in the year 2000. This was a bug filled game that could have been great. It was a super faithful adaptation of the original 1e Temple Adventure using the 3e rules (mostly). Years later the fan community patched and modded the game into a "workable" state via Co8 Mod Group. Then someone replaced the code engine with Temple+ (I have not used this version yet). You can still purchase this game via GOG.com. I am going to let you go down this rabbithole if you want, how to setup a playable version of the game is its own thread. There are a lot of good things about this game (bugs aside), NPC names for all Hommlet villagers, Fully developed Nulb, and the Temple is as deadly as I remember. At least you got a save point. If I find the time to install this again with the Temple+ engine I might mine it for stuff. There are a ton of walk throughs on the internet if you want to see some of the ideas they fleshed out.</li> <li data-xf-list-type="ul"><strong>3e</strong>: <a href="https://www.dmsguild.com/product/28447/Return-to-the-Temple-of-Elemental-Evil-3e" target="_blank"><strong><em>Return to the Temple of Elemental Evi</em></strong><em>l</em></a> - Monte Cook. I refer to this only a little. Its a good adventure but really don't like Monte's decision to combine the Elder Elemental Eye with Tharizdun. Like the story hour above it is post-wars Greyhawk and that is not helpful to me.</li> <li data-xf-list-type="ul"><strong>4e</strong>: <a href="https://www.dmsguild.com/product/163632/Dungeon-212-4e?" target="_blank"><em><strong><span style="color: rgb(84, 172, 210)">The Village of Hommlet</span></strong></em></a> - Gary Gygax and Andy Collins. The print version was a RPGA reward for D&D Encounter's DMs, it was later republished with new art and maps in the <a href="https://www.dmsguild.com/product/163632/Dungeon-212-4e?" target="_blank"><em>eDungeon Mag issue 212</em></a>, page. 40. My wife and I both got a copy of the print version because I organized a weekly gameday and my wife DMed. It is a bare bones affair that I think suffers because of combat focus of 4e and the use the Dawn War pantheon.<br /> It is a good example on how to convert the combat encounters into readable and ready to play material. However the titular village itself gets the short shrift. There are some NPC names to steal and some updates to some of species of the inhabitants. There is also a nifty Moathouse Ruins Battle map that was shrunk a bit to fit on the size of the poster map.</li> <li data-xf-list-type="ul"><strong>4e</strong>: <strong><em><span style="color: rgb(84, 172, 210)">The Elder Elemental Eye</span></em> </strong>- Peter Sleijpen & Chris Sims. This was Season 14 (?) of the D&D Encounters program it was also republished in <a href="https://www.dmsguild.com/product/165541/Dungeon-214-4e?term=Dungeon+%23214" target="_blank"><em>eDungeon Mag issue 214</em></a>, page. 66. I have a copy. It suffers like the 4e Version of Hommlet and set in the Forgotten Realms. Not sure if there is anything to file the serial numbers off of and use. It does come with 3 battle maps. As far as I know the only way to own a copy was organizing or DMing for RPGA D&D Encounters program.</li> <li data-xf-list-type="ul"><strong>D&D Next/5e</strong>: <a href="https://www.dmsguild.com/product/169620/Dungeon-221-4e-Next" target="_blank"><strong><em>The Battle of Emridy Meadows</em></strong></a> -Jon Leitheusser & Christopher Perkins. This adventure was in the last in the last published issue of Dungeon Magazine, Issue 221(available on DMs Guild, click the title to go there). The alliance of Good finally gets a name, <em>Righteous Host</em>. This adventure takes PCs to the war council, pre-battle missions, and then the battle itself. I will likely mine this for Emridy Meadows if the PCs want to go there.</li> <li data-xf-list-type="ul"><strong>5e</strong>: <a href="https://www.dndbeyond.com/sources/dnd/soee/scions-of-elemental-evil" target="_blank"><strong>Scions of Elemental Evil</strong></a> - Amanda Hamon. This is part of the 50th Anniversary celebration of D&D. It gives me a reason to have the PCs go to the Kingdom of Celene and meet Queen Yolandel (the DMG 2024 version). Not sure if I am going to run this as is or I will mod it yet. Depends on what the PCs do and how their allies and enemies react.</li> </ul><p>Basically these are all idea farms that I am breaking up into small bits that I can use however I need based upon the actions of my PCs.</p><p></p><p>Next? I am thinking about how I am going to deal with Lareth.
