I'm not sure if this is the Best place for it but it didn't seem to fit anywhere else - Check it out! Using the Elements of Magic you can make "Legolas" pretty much dead on (at least as he appears in the film versions IMNSHO) tEoM presents an alternate version of the Paladin and using it you can make what I feel is the most Accurate version of him. Check it out 5th level Paladin from the Elements of Magic Hit Dice: (d10) B.A.B. (+1/level) Proficient with all simple and martial weapons, light armor, medium armor, and shields. Detect Evil (works a little different than as presented in the PHB) Divine Grace (applies Charisma modfier as a bonus to all saving throws.) "Magical Boon" at 1st level (one minor and one moderate): -minor: woodland stride -moderate: trackless step @5th level he gets another Magical Boon:(in this case 1 major): -major: Aura of Defense (may add Charisma modifier to Armor Class, even if flat footed) Now Legolas is a great example of a Charismatic being and this system actually lets him take advantage of his high charisma by adding it to his Dex bonus at 5th level to boost his AC showing how he can run around in a system like D&D (and have an AC of @17) with No Armor at All! In The Two Towers he could slap on a Chainshirt or Breast Plate and have an AC of 21. "Woodland stride" reflects his growing up in Mirkwood and how easy it is for him to run through even dense forest and underbrush. "Trackless step" reflets things like him actually walking On Top of Snow!! (In case you never noticed this watch the scene where they are on the mountain pass just before Saruman attacks them! Although I am sure everybody knows this or at least has read stuff like this about him in the books- something about him walking On blades of grass I think?!) He would have enough Feats to take: 1st level-Point Blank Shot. 2nd level(Bonus Feat)--Rapid Shot. 3rd level-Precise Shot. (@6th level, he either remains an 'tEoM Paladin' or becomes a Masters of Arms Bow Master)-w/-Far shot. (Then using 'The Masters of Arms' book he could take up 'Bow Master' @6th level!) What do you think about this? So far it seems like a great system and I just thought this was kind of cool, especially since it wasn't really designed to be a Middle Earth to D&D conversion book or a handbook for an alternate Paladin Class. (If a moderator feels this goes somewhere else please feel free to move it! Thanks all- that's my .02!!)
