Winterhaven, Alarm! The heroes arrrive at the gate anon, and mount the steps up to the watch tower. Outside the gate stands a LARGE, crude looking fellow about 30 meters back from the gate. If he approached the tower where you now stand, his head would come almost to the level of your feet. (The beast, for he looks none too civilized in his poorly tanned loincloth and he carries a club that looks more like a small tree trunk, is approximately 10+ feet tall, or roughly 3+ meters tall for you European folk. ;) ) The townsfolk of Winterhaven have brought three of their spindliest-looking, malnourished cattle to offer as tribute. They are all three tied to the same rope lead. They open the gate a bit and 'shoo' the cattle through. "What sorry beasts these are! Is this the best you can do?" *hack* *hack* *cough* A guardsman answers, "Yes, I'm afraid so. You've already eaten our better cattle." The "giant" replies, "Well, I suppose it will have to do for now. But I tell you this --NEXT WEEK you'd better have me some good, fat meat to eat, or I'll come in there and wrangle me a brace of fat little children!" *snort* *wheeze* *cough* He takes the rope and begins to lead the cattle off into the woods. OOC: The Heroes may not know everything about giants, but they know that this is no true giant! And 'he' doesn't appear to be in the best of health, anyway.
