I don't see how this is relevant to this thread. The last Bladesinger I played (level 18 Wizard/level 2 cleric) had 9th level spells and I don't think I ever cast a 9th level spell. I cast False Life at 9th level and Summon Greater Demon at 9th level a bunch though. A 9th level spell slot is 25 more temp hit points than a 4th level slot and that is considerable. The only real loss here is in Contingency and Tasha's Otherwordly Guise and there is an arguement to be made to go to 12th level as Bladesinger to get those. However at 20th level totaal character I think that is not worth the two extra feats, low level spells prepared and abilities you get with Artificer and Swords Bard. You talk about a pet being trash below but now you are bringing up CME? CME is pretty hard to abuse when it has a 1-minute casting time. I can honestly say I have never cast nor seen any player cast CME in 5E. Now CWB is a different story ..... but it is not available to Wizards. You don't need armor at all. Bracers of Defense (Rare) and Staff of Power (Very Rare) DO stack with Mage Armor and with Bladesong and Shield spell (AC 32) they will EASILY beat Legendary +3 Plate with a Very Rare +3 shield (AC26) and that is before you consider the disadvantage imposed by the "trash" pet or any defensive spells you are going to cast. Further there is nothing actually stopping a Bladesinger from wearing medium armor or using shield. They have proficiency in both from Swords Bard and with the extra feats from redundant extra attack, they can even pick up heavy armor proficiency if they needed to. Sure it doesn't stack with Bladesinging, but it also does not conflict with the Bladesinger's superior version of extra attack either and in the unlikely event that you get legendary armor but do not manage to find rare or very rare items to boost unarmored AC you can use the armor ... and cast the shield spell with the armor on to have a much better AC than your non-caster .... and still have a better extra attack than everyone else at the table too! The pet is about action economy and you can revive it to full health between battles with an action and a 1st level slot and a "trash" pet is still objectively better than no pet. I never said it was more powerful than a 20th level Bladesinger and a 20th level Bladesinger is not even allowed in this game .... or did you just miss what the OP said about max level of 12 for a single class? What I said is it will gimp non-casters and it is way more powerful than any combination of non-casters you are going to cobble together with no single class exceeding 12. It has a better extra attack, a better AC, in most cases more effective hit points, spells, and a "trash pet". It is not replacing extra attack, it is giving an extra feat. Extra attack from multiple classes does not stack normally. Do you not understand the post? So for example on a Ranger 5/Paladin 5/Fighter 5/Barbarian 5 you would give up the three extra 3 feats to get redundant version of extra attack and no actual additional attacks or boost to DPS. Multiple instances of extra attack is useless and your claim that you would take them over a feat is non-sensical. Take the character example above with 4 ASIs and then compare that same character with 4 ASIs plus PAM, GWM and Sentinel with the exact same number of attacks and exact same ability scores. No it doesn't. It does not change your DPS at all. Again Ranger 5/Paladin 5/Fighter 5/Barbarian 5 with 4x extra attack still only gets 2 attacks a round. The same character with 3 more feats gets 2 attacks a round, has the same DPS and has 3 more feats. What???? A 20th level fighter is not even allowed in this game.
