Level Spread in Your Party?

The current group

One Cleric just hit 6th level.
There is a 1/4 fighter/rogue and a 5th level ranger.

The two newest members are a 3rd level fighter and a 2nd/1st monk/fighter

So.. 3-6. Now- if everyone shows up at every session as they have been doing, the two low-level guys will hit 5th around the same time as the two 5th level guys hit 6th. By the time the cleric is 7th everyone else will be 6th.

By 8th I think it will all even out.

We give each and every PC the same amount of Exp, no matter attendance or roleplaying. No one has yet made any items, but I doubt I'd dock anyone exp even in such a case - I can, as the DM, always compensate the rest of the party with items found. Death and raising ... I don't kill off PCs, and I'd rather not open the can of worms that is raise dead and all its siblings on my campaigns continuity.

Missing out on the fun of a gaming session is bad enough, no need to get penalized further.
