This thread is intended as some sort of "thinking aloud" for my thoughts on how to convert things as seen on DanDaDan (right now up to Episode 1x12 and mainly based on the Anime). I'll assume people who read this thread to have seen these episodes, so I don't have to fill this with spoilers. (I'm still trying to find the time to read all of the manga so I'd be grateful if any spoilers beyond the current anime would be put into spoiler tags) The general setting is filled with normal people who seem to be completely oblivious to the ghosts and aliens that complicate the lives of Momo, Okarun and the rest. 1. Aliens are PSI? The place the serpoians kidnap Momo (and later the three in school) look like a textbook example of the Mindscapes from "Paranormal Power". As the school kidnapping shows "normal" people wouldn't be included in the "area kidnap" but Momo could hang on/join in because of her mental powers. I probably wouldn't define any specific features/powers for that but it would help setting up "alien" (pardon the pun) scenes with aliens. (As also seen with the sumo/flatwoods monster) 2. Normal people can't see magic/ghosts? The reaction of people to the race from the crab and other things seem to indicate that people don't really notice the strange "monsters" (including Okarun when "powered up") or forget anything strange/illogical about that immediately. If in a fantasy world (where people use magic all the time) supernatural stuff probably will be remembered/seen/... 3. Momo is an Esper (Thymokineticist)? Since my break is almost over I'll expand on this later, but my first look into how I could portray her abilities best led me to this combo. More soon but feel free to chime in or correct me if I overlooked some things...
