LFGS Business Crisis - HELP PLEASE!

Najo

First Post
I am 50% owner in a local game store that has built itself up from nothing. I have put over 10 years into the business. The store is called Borderlands Games and is located in Salem, Or. If you have heard of us you know how awesome we are. With over 5100 sq ft, and regular weekly gaming events, we are the model for the next generation of gaming stores. The problem is that I am in business with a family member and we are having a conflict right now. If I do not come up with $180,000 to buy out her 50% then I am possibly looking at losing all we worked on for so long. This is an emergancy. I am willing to consider new partners with strong finanical backgrounds and who understand the importance of game play space, store events and gaming brought together.

I can be contacted at (503) 269 5484 or borderlandsgames<nospam>@comcast.net. Please contact me directly if you have means to help, either helping me secure a long term loan, directing me to a financier, an investor or someone interested in helping our business model suceed. Please pass this on to people who can aid in my search. I can provide any information necessary to confirm our business and its situation.

thank you

You need a lawyer right now, not a business partner.

You should retain professional counsel - immediately.

I second this. In fact, I would say that mediation may be what is needed here for a consensual agreement. An outside party may be just the thing you need to help iron out the issues. If not, Steel Wind has got the right idea.
