LGS in Arlington

There use to be good game stores actually in Arlington.

Ages ago there was on in Roslin, run by a really nice guy. For a long time one in Clarendon that had all the new stuff and all kinds of funky old stuff. And of course what little there was in DC is also gone.

Makes me feel a little sad. Borders or Barne's and Noble just aren't the same.

Hey all.

Just got back. I wrote a much longer review a few moments ago and then accidentally erased it. I don't feel like re-typing it all. I went down to Chantilly. My wife and I were very pleased with the store there.

My two very minor complaints:
1) The shrinkwrapping thing. Someone mentioned that they'd unwrap stuff, but I felt odd doing so when I knew I had zero interest in actually buying and just wanted to flip through.
2) I know it's totally unfair, but I have a strong aversion to retail prices. Yes, I am one of those ogres who buys from discount sources rather than supporting the local GS. As a result, I picked up a few things that were hard to find online and/or were rarely discounted.

A good experience in general and I mentioned to the workers here that I would post a favorable review here.

Just because nobody mentioned it, I'll mention Dream Wizards in Rockville, MD. It's near the White Flint Mall on Parklawn Dr. If you game in the DC area, Dream Wizards, Complete Strategist, and Game Parlor are the three stores that most cater to your tastes.

I've shopped at all three, and would go back to all three.

I always forget about that one. The one time I went out there by metro, I got a little turned around and it took a lot longer to find than it should have. Ever since, I think its more of a pain to get too than it really is.
