Liber Fanatica #7 was released today for WFRP3 (Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay) with awesome artwork by Undermound. Liber Fanatica Homepage

There has been a loss of writers since the new edition came out though. We had to hunt and peck for different people this time. Did this happen with each of the new editions of D&D? Was it out with the old fanzine writers and in with the new?

Thanks for the link. I hadn't heard of this fanzine before now. I'll be checking the issues out. I've only recently gotten into WFRP (FFG version) having picked it up at the FLGS more on a whim than anything else. Seems interesting so far.

I'm liking it. I remember when 1e came out back in the 80's and I saw the ad in Dragon magazine. It had 50 careers! I was so jealous because 1e D&D only had 12 or so at the time. I didn't really get into it though until 4eD&D came out. We started a 4e game in the world..and now have simply switched to WFRP3.

Neat stuff.

It doesn't surprise me that now authors are required, unlike employees of the RPG company the only thing keeping these guys there is love. And unless they love the system (and they already obviously love 2E) then why should they stay around. 3E is as bi a departure as 4E is DnD wise so there are going to be lots of disenchanted peeps.

Nice mag BTW :)

I think the trouble with 3e is that people were expecting to get 2e with some changes, and instead got Experimental Roleplay System X-5000. There's definitely such a thing as changing too much in an edition, and I think they went a bit too far.

The other problem is the giant price barrier to people who're probably quite happy with their current system. Perhaps some sort of taster or starter kit might've been in order.

As it is, it's a lot to take on faith.

I attribute 99% of the problem to the price. 2e had $700 worth of product, but at least you started the game with 75% of what you needed (and 100% of what the players needed).

3e starts with 50% of what you need.

I like the game system (well-playtested..just not well-written rules).

We'll see what the Players Guide brings. My new 2011 3e campaign begins in a week :)

Anyways, glad you guys are enjoying Liber Fanatica #7. Our artist was awesome.
