I wanted to thank Mystic Eye Games. I was fortunate enough to win a copy of the new print version of the Librum Equitis vol. I as a result of the contest they ran some time back. What a wonderful surprise to find unexpectedly in my mailbox! This book is really great. The PRCs seem more mechanically sound than those from any other batch of PRCs I've seen. They are also really great for people who run homebrew campaigns or like to tweak official settings.
They are all generic enough that almost any of them could fit into any fantasy world without changing the look & feel (no master of chains or oozemaster here), yet they have enough flavor provided such that they inspire some nice ideas and still feel like they can be closely tied to a given organization in your world of choice. I think it is an implementation of PRCs that for me is quite exemplary and probably one of the only sources of PRCs that I would actually want to use in a game.
I'm not big on PDF products because I like to get good print production when I plunk down my money, so the fact that Librum Equitis was put into hardcopy was what this book needed for me to finally take a good look at it. The addition of great artwork is also a big plus.
Has anyone used any of the material from this book in their game yet?
P.S. Another thing that's nice about this book is it's use of open game content reprinted from a few sources -- it's really nice to see cross-pollination like this.
