So i have an idea I wanted to run by you all. I want to run a d20 (ether modern or shadowrun) that takes place in a grimdark version of Duckberg. The story is that 10 years have passed since the end of the cartoon. Scrooge McDuck rules this town with an iron fist. Where once the town was filled with laughter and bright colors, its now a dark and scary place to live (think of Gotham). The players would start off at prison for minor crimes. Inside, they meet a member of the Beagle Boys. He likes them and offers them a chance to join the gang. They agree, and gets busted out of prison with the help of the other Beagle Boys. They get sent on missions by Ma Beagle. At first its nothing too big. Stealing, roughing up some people etc.. They finally get enough trust to do deadlier crimes from Ma (or they join up with some other big players like Magica the voodoo witch or Glomgold the old Scottish Godfather-esc duck who cannot tolerate failure). While on missions, they learn about the other cast of characters in town. Gladstone runs a casino where Webby is the main attraction. Donald is in a mental institution (Donald and mcduck are more like their comic book versions rather then the cartoon version). One mission will go to hell and a lot of innocents will get hurt. One such person, Fenton, has his legs amputated and his lover is killed. He goes all punisher and has Gyro (ether by force or money) to help him. Gyro has been trying to "clean up the town" with robts he created earlier, but are quickly dispatched by the players and thus wants a more "lively" subject to work on. Gyro makes him into Gizmoduck. Another few missions have them find out about the underground resistance called "The Quack Pack". After a few missions (if they build the trust), meet the resistance leader....Launchpad. Launchpad worked for Scrooge for many many years, but saw what power and money was doing to him. He tried to talk him out of it, but Scrooge saw weakness. He ordered his nephews (assissains for him known as the Silent 3) to take him out. Launchpad survives the attack and goes undergroun, building a resistance to stop scrooge. The end all mission would have the players break into the money vault and steal Scrooge's "Number One Dime". They will also have a face off with scrooge himself (and those who know the comic book version of him know thats no easy task). So what do you all think? What game would you run this with? Any ideas or suggestions of things to think about (ive only been playing these types of games for a year and a half now and have been dm'ing a 4e game for a few months now.)
