Can I just say: Yes! Please be aware that each novel has an ending! The story goes on from there, but there is a satisfying conclusion to the first two -- and I understand the rest are like that as well. Not that you'll want to stop reading, of course. ;) I discovered Erikson by accident and actually really enjoyed Gardens of the Moon (the first one), although I have often heard since then that it is tough to read. :uhoh: I am midway through book 3 now and I really think these are amazing stories. The cultures and ideas are fascinating and not, IMO, gimmicky like cultures in some fantasy novels (or D&D) can be. Fans of Glen Cook's Black Company should take special note. The world of Erikson is very reminiscent (although the writing style is different) of Cook's. Erikson even cites Cook as a major influence. I wrote a review of Gardens of the Moon for rpg.net. Head over and do a search for it, if you want some more "details" -- although the review speaks in general terms.
