Like waiting for a bus... [NUMENERA/GYGAX MAGAZINE #2] first impresions

Well, that was fun

It was a good day today. Both my copy of NUMENERA and Gygax Magazine #2 arrived. I thought I'd share some first impressions - mainly visual stuff, since I haven't had chance to read anything yet.

Here they both are, unwrapped but not yet opened...

I didn't know the inside cover of Numenera had a map printed on it! Love it!

And a GIANT FOLDOUT MAP! How did I NOT KNOW THIS?

The character sheet is gorgeous (this bit I have seen before):

Hey, there's my name (in a loooooooooooong list of Kickstarter backers):

But let's not forget GYGAX MAGAZINE. Because IT HAS A FOLD OUT SECTION TOO! It's like foldout heaven here!

This brings my list of RPG acquisitions in the last month to this total:

All in all, a good month, I'd say. Now I guess I have some reading to do.

I backed both the Numenera core book as well as the Numenera Maps Kickstarters, and I think both will be useful. I picked not just the world map, but also the map of Qi, and the flip sides show technological complexes that could be good for any exploration that your character will do. The world map is also useful because 1, it's rolled, so no creases, two, it's not attached to my book, so I don't have to pull it out. Also, it came with world and Qi (city) maps that lack the labeled features, so your characters can explore the world and fill in things as they discover them, rather than have full access to every major city, feature, and ruin in the Ninth World.
