There were actually two different creatures from 'Dragonlance' with similar names. The 'hulders' were small, gray-skinned, child-sized fey (I'm not sure where they were described, probably the DL Monstrous Compendium). The 'hulderfolk' were a very reclusive subrace from the northern continent, Taladas, who lived in isolated forests in the outskirts of the minotaurs' empire. I believe they were described in 'Time of the Dragon'.</blockquote>
