[Live Free or Die Hard] Help me stat out John McClane

Well, Bruce Willis is 52 years old, so I'd peg McClane as 52 as well. That's Middle Age.

He admitted that, as a hero, he's had lots of experience. So, that puts him in the "Middle Age (high experience)" level bracket. That means I, if I were going to play him or put him in as an NPC, would start at about 8th level. Perhaps 10th at most.

He's got the Law Enforcement occupation, with Intimidate and Knowledge (tactics) as class skills, and Personal Firearms Proficiency as a bonus feat.

I'd stat him out as a heroic NPC, so that gives me 25 point buy.

Strength 13
Dexterity 12
Constitution 14
Intelligence 12
Wisdom 12
Charisma 10

sure he's got no dump stats, but then again, he's a hero.

He's got at least 1 tough level (remain conscious), and probably has the Tough Plus feat to also get Second Wind and DR 1/-.

He's got at least 1 fast level (evasion)

He's got at least 1 smart level and Smart Plus because he's got the Trick talent (so he's probably also got Savant in Navigate and Search).

He's also got at least 1 charismatic level (fast talk), and probably more to make it a higher bonus.

So, i've got a, in no particular order, Tough X/Fast Y/Smart Z/Charismatic Ω character of at least 8th level. A good mix would be T2/F2/S2/C2. He's got a BAB of +4, which is a little low, a defense of +8, which is decent, a reputation of +3, which is good enough, and three of his four level based feats accounted for. I'd make the final one heroic surge, because, well, he's John McClane! And make him 9th level (Tough 3), give him the Stamina talent, and the Jack of All Trades feat.

So, John's a Tough 3/Fast 2/Smart 2/Charismatic 2 hero with the Tough Plus, Fast Plus, Smart Plus, Heroic Surge, and Jack of All Trades feats, the Personal Firearms Proficiency occupational bonus feat, and the Point Blank Shot, Lightning Reflexes, Endurance, and Vehicle Expert class bonus feats.

He's got assorted ranks across the board, from drive, to pilot, to disable device, to intimidate (lots of intimidate), to Knowledge (tactics), and tumble.

Yeah, I was veeery surprised to see he's added a few ranks of pilot in DH4! You know, considering the whole reason he was barefoot in DH was because he was afraid to fly. I thought it was a nice little twist by the writers in this one. Also,

FBI Agent: I'm agent Johnson.

McClane: You're agent Johnson? ***Shakes his head and smirks***

Beautiful!

I'm very impressed with everyone's efforts, and I will make my own effort soon, but I would like to throw an idea out there that would really explain a lot.

I saw the movie tonight and noticed a hint.

The gashes in John McClane's head weren't bleeding.

I know, I know, you're gonna say that they got dirt in them of he's a quick coagulator or something, but I'm looking at this guy and thinking, "Headwounds normally bleed a lot."

Like, he should have had blood all over his head.

The only people who get a headwound like that are.... dead already.

So here's my idea:

Holly Gennaro is a necromancer.

Now I know this sounds far fetched, but hear me out.

John McClane was a New York Cop who got shot in the line of duty, and stumbled home to the arms of his wife knowing he was going to die. He told her he loved her and expired soon thereafter. She, being a necromancer (and having two little kids), raised him from the dead and sent him back to work so the paychecks would keep coming in.

Now, once she got her legs under her and got a decent job, she didn't need the meal ticket anymore, so she bugged out, changing her name in hopes he couldn't find her.

John, now a zombie (the fast kind, not the lumbering hulk kind) comes out to CA to find her.

Thus begins Die Hard.

Otherwise we have to toss in all of these extreme luck feats, and that just means higher and higher levels.

"nobodez" even used "Plus" feats. What is he? A cyborg? A supersoldier?

No. He's a zombie.

And him being a zombie makes statting him out so much easier.
