Greetings!

Greyhawk is just cool. It always has been. It is a great shame that WOTC doesn't put more effort into marketing and developing Greyhawk. The world has so much potential, you know?:)

Semper Fidelis,

SHARK

It's too bad that today the main setting is a world of uber munchkinism and other over the top crap. ie FR. It's too bad as the old 1e boxed set wasn't a bad setting, they just go out of hand in terms of books and changes to make the setting as worthless for a normal campaign as it is today. Greyhawk is much better IMO. I'm getting the 1e boxed set today to replace my old one and it's going to get a lot of use in my game. I'm thinking of warping the PC's back to about year 560 and going from there, avoiding the whole Seargent era.

I've wondered how useful it is for me. Is it useful if you have the old 80's box set, FtA and the City of ...and your campaign is se in about 586 C.Y.?

I'd still say it was very useful, although I'm unaware of the contents of FtA; I use it in a campaign set in 583 CY with the old 1983 boxed set.

Certainly the write-up on the gods is excellent, and each country has a large slab of information on it (history, current conflicts, etc.)

It really doesn't cost that much; and it's well worth the investment.

Cheers!
