The Kamikaze Dungeoneers are recruiting! We're a long-standing group of players in Richmond, London, that meet on alternate Saturdays between noon and five; and we're looking for a few new players for the group. We always have a great time at our sessions: our Golden Rule is that 'The Game Must be Fun!'. The game is literally five minutes walk from the local tube station; it is about the same distance to several bus routes. Pirates of ye Main! First, we have an eight part campaign, based on the idea of piracy in the Caribbean. Throughout history pirates have terrorised the world's seas. This campaign will be set in 1714, during the Golden Age of Piracy. Trade routes to Aztec Gold, Incan Silver and the rich plantations of the New World ran through the Caribbean – it became known as a happy hunting ground for pirates and privateers, home to the scum of the earth. Play a pirate and have all the riches, glory, and adventure you can dream of. If ye can live to spend it, that is! Thematic Influences Viewing: Pirates of the Caribbean, Master and Commander, Sea Hawk, Captain Blood. Reading: The 'Aubury and Maturin' series by P. O' Brian (inspiration for the movie above; 21 avaliable in the series), Alexandre Dumas. The system is 'wushu'; a high-action rules-lite system that is avaliable for free at http://bayn.org/wushu/wushu-open.html. The GM, Mark Berryman, has made some adaptations to the basic rules to fit them into the piracy milieu (just the names of things. arr); just get in touch for all the details. Through Dungeons Dark... Following the Pirates campaign, we will be playing a 1st edition AD&D campaign run by Richard Tongue, with a focus on gritty fantasy. They'll be dungeons, they'll be dragons; but there will be a lot of other stuff as well. The plan is for a campaign that will not necessarily take itself too seriously; but with opportunities for heroic deeds and dasterdly villany! Thematic Influences Films: Conan the Barbarian, King Arthur, Lord of the Rings. Books: Conan, Lankhmar, Gygax “Greyhawk” novels. Comics: Nodwick, Snarfquest, KODT, Fineous Fingers.
