[QUOTE="mdmayer, post: 1254534, member: 9668"] Hey all! I'm looking to find a 3/3.5 D&D group (don't have 3.5, but I can learn). I used to play D&D when I was younger, switched to board games, but now I'm getting back into it. I’m out of practice but hope to quickly get up to speed. So I'm looking for some friendly nifty-keen-cool people who are excited about gaming. I'm pretty picky though. Not in a nasty snide way, I assure you, but in a "I-want-to-make-sure-I-and-everyone-I'm-playing-with-is-having-fun" way. I'd like to find people looking to make friends, as opposed to a group just looking for another person around the table. I prefer 30-somethings (I'm 36). Want to avoid drinkers, smokers, druggies, the deranged, the great unwashed, the jaded, complainers, control freaks, racists, sexists, homophobes, ect. Want to find imaginative, smart, sane, easy-going people. Friday night is best for me, starting after 7pm. If not, then some other weeknight game. If not, then a weekend game but I'm not sure of a time I'm free yet. I'd like to play once a week, but occasional pick-up games in addition to that are fine too. I wouldn't want most sessions to go much longer than 5 hours, since I prefer focused motivated play (I tend to burn out if I play longer than that). Where? Nearer to Coram on Long Island the better. I share a car with my wife, so I have to juggle that, and also I don't want to spend a lot of time traveling. Preferences? I want to join a good-aligned group that works together. I like a mix of roleplaying, action, puzzle solving, and fighting similar to what can be found in most modules. No one likes to be railroaded through a plot, of course, but I like having at least some goals and choices spelled out so I can see the point of an adventure and really get into it. I'd prefer a smaller group (4-5) to a larger one (8+). I like standard medieval humanoid-centric fantasy most, but I can handle a bit of weirdness too. I prefer 'PG' rated themes for the most part (not that I'm squeamish, but I've seen too many R and NC-17 style games get too far away from what I like about fantasy gaming), and I'd like to join a lower level game so I can reacquaint myself with the game through normal progression. So to keep this from being any longer, I'll end it here by saying I'd be happy to answer any questions and field all queries. I look forward to hearing from you!
