Hi, I am the DM of a group that's been running more or less non stop for about a year and a half. Most of us didn't know each other until we came to the first session, but since that time our modified 3.5 campaign, The Ecstasy of Gold (Part II - A Sword of Bright Shadows), has seen most of the characters reach 11th level. The campaign itself is set in a sprawling and highly detailed homebrew that is inspired in large part by a combination of the old Chinese epic Journey to the West, the World of Greyhawk, the anime Inuyasha,, Paradise Lost , and the old Spaghetti Westerns of the 60's and 70's. Its a weird mix, but its worked so far.
At this time we've decided to put the campaign on pause for various reasons. We will come back to it in soon no doubt, but our storyline and our characters have reached a bit of a crossroads and I as the DM would like to step back and take a break from that storyline for both my own enjoyment and the integrity of the campaign.
Currently we've been playing a Stargate/Conanesque side campaign (started at 9th level) and we're also going to be starting a lower level Greyhawk/Dungeon Adventure Path campaign that one of my players will likely DM.
Anyway, getting to the point (finally), I am looking for a new addition (one or two new players) to our group who can bear with our current campaign fragmentation but also click with me and our players. We play D&D as much for the great feeling that a cohesive campaign and character brings, but also just having fun with friends. The five of us age between 20-25, and we're a fairly mature group who often roleplays fairly heavily but also has loves a good combat.
We normally try to play about 3-4 Sunday afternoons a month at my apartment in Alexandria starting at 2-4pm and run until 8-9:30pm. We try to be flexible with everyone's schedules, and for that reason we also sometimes (maybe once or twice every two months) play on a Monday or Tuesday afternoon instead.
If you're interested you can email me at gmlope at 'hotmail' dot com and I can send you some more information about both our main campaign and our side campaign.
