That's what I thought, but the references I was seeing were in 3.5 books.

Funny how we can find these odd scraps left from previous editions.

Does anyone know if there's a 3.5 update for it?

Does anyone know if there's a 3.5 update for it?[/QUOTE] I Dont know about an update but I know I saw the spell referenced in Fiend Folio (The Bacchae).; the description for the spell wasn't though. I looked it up online (I forget where):

Emotion Lv4 , Standard Action, Medium Range, Duration: 1min/level, 1 creature/level, Will negates, SR: Yes, Effect: You can either choose to grant the affected creatures +2 or -2 to attack, damage , saves and skill checks. Hope this helps...

Emotion was a 3.0 PHB spell for Bards and Sorcerer/Wizards.

The 3.5 updates take some the different uses you could make of Emotion and make them into individual spells, namely Good Hope and Crushing Despair.

Emotion was much more flexible (it let you choose from a variety of emotional effects each time you cast it), and could be employed to great roleplaying effect. Unfortunately, 3.5 was only interested in combat effects. To me, this was one of the more disappointing spell changes between editions!
