There's also a new store in town, called Shardz (http://www.shardz.net). I think some of the D&D minis players there also have a regular D&D campaign going on. Check the 'RichmondGamer' yahoo group (http://groups.yahoo.com/group/RichmondGamer) for more info.

Don't know about the "freakish" factor, though, as I haven't been able to visit the store yet.

There's a few of us around, but it doesn't appear that there is very much activity at the moment. I haven't played much of anything in the past year, since my local group split up when several folks moved out of town. One of the guys I work with is still interested, so we may try to get something going again. I am hoping to get a day or two of gaming in at Patroit Games next weekend, though.

There are a few others that I've communicated with via email, and several folks that I work with, but I don't think any of them frequent the ENWorld message boards. Also there is a Yahoo group called 'RichmondGamer' where I've seen several other roleplayers. Oh, and the (now defunct?) Richmond D&D group on meetup.com had a lot of names listed.

I guess there are a lot of folks out there, but they don't all hang out in the same location. It would be nice if we had one central place for everyone to communicate and coordinate amongst themselves. Maybe the Yahoo group could become such a place.

I don't know if you're into RPGA gaming at all, but the convention next weekend (http://www.patriot-games.com) would be a great place to hook up with other Richmond gamers.

I seem to be having some cookie problems with yahoogroups site from work. I'll have to work on that.

And no, I'm no fan of the RPGA, and I'm a little disappointed that the focus of that con seems to be mostly RPGA stuff. I may go on Saturday with their $5 pass and just take a look around.
