Thanks for the well wishes! I wouldn't be too 'fraid of trying it personally, whats the worst thing that could happen? You fail? The entire RPG community sees you run your mouth and fall flat on your face? You get lynched by swarms of disappointed players? But seriously folks, if you don't swing the bat you won't ever hit any home runs. Honestly very little "bad stuff" could really happen if it doesn't work out, of course I have a different perspective of what "bad stuff" is, perhaps moreso than most people. If you really are interested in trying it out or brainstorming ideas to make it work I would happily assist in any way I can, I can be reached at my gaming email - the.maze.controller @ gmail dot com. I think the biggest hurdle to overcome is dealing with apathy / recruiting initially, people are skeptical and no one wants to deal with "that guy". Since no one knows me personally, things will move slow at first. I have my brother interested (Altho he has a baby on the way so he may not join.) and an old childhood buddy who I am going to reach out to since I just moved back to NYC but everyone else coming to the table will be strangers. The only other issue is going to be with getting people to make use of the OP site. I already have 6 people interested supposedly and the site and serious advertising efforts on my part started Wed the 7th I think.(A date that will live in infamy!) Out of those 6 potentials who have emailed me I have had only 2 join the site thus far. I am okay with that tho since the plan includes vetting potentials in person anyway with mini sessions and 1 shot games etc. I am in no rush to start playing honestly, I want to build slowly and then have an epic 6-8 month run before I take a breather break. My first meet and greet session is going today at the Compleat Strategist in midtown Manhattan from noon to 4 where I will do Q&A spitball ideas for the program, collect feedback, and delegate smallish tasks to volunteers. I will keep you guys posted. P.S. - Oh almost forgot but caught in my preview review, the other big hurdle for this campaign is game system specific. I am not going with the market leader, so there is some reluctance regarding "buy in" there. I will say that this is a two edged sword however. I find that players who are open to multiple systems are usually a little better than rabid fanbois of one or system or another. I also seek to overcome that buy taking advantage of the low price point to get involved = $1.00. I am also working out ideas with some people which will involve a "Bad Wrong Fun Card" - which some local dealers and some major players may choose to honor for discounts on gaming supplies. More details on that when / if it picks up significant steam.
