I'm looking for card games, bone dices and all sorts of mechanics to gaming sets that fit D&D 5e
Has anyone seen anything?
I'm talking about homebrew of course, haven't seen any official mechanics nor found something at the DMsguild

There was a Dragon Magazine article from 3e days with several games in it. It was part of an article on a tavern a few miles out of Waterdeep. I cannot remember the issue number right now.

Looking for something to do with the 'gaming set' tool proficiencies that certain Backgrounds get?

If so, it's still a proficiency, a bonus to a d20 ability check. A given set might map to a given ability. Depending on why they're playing, success might win a little cash, or grant a advantage on a future interaction check...

Beyond that, not a lot to worry about.

Three Dragon Ante is something I think you can buy, and the rules for dragonchess can be found on Wikipedia I think. Those are the clear D&D games I can think of from the 5e list of games to have proficiency in. The rest might be the same you might find if you Google for dice games etc (I haven't checked).

This reply was assuming the OP wants to know the rules of the games that 5e characters might be proficient in.

trying to add little games inside the game, I have an entertainer in the froup which seems to have a gambling problem.
so far it was d20 + prof + sleight of hand with pick the dragon out of 3 cards.
trying to make it a little more interesting than d20 vs d20
but I don't want to make it a serious game, just a small detour

Checking out the rules should make it possible to describe more in detail what the rolls represent and figure out if they are truly needed.
