Core only? 1) Halfling Ranger (or Fighter)/Paladin/Outrider. He uses the Fighter or Ranger levels to boost either his mounted melee or mounted ranged combat skills, Paladin to get a special mount, and Outrider for the special bennies from that PrCl. Add in some Extra Smite... 2) Fighter/Cleric with any 2 of Destruction, Strength, and War domains. Depending on Feat choice, take the Morningstar, Maul, Flail, or Hydraflail as your main weapon (you hate undead, they hate blunt weapons). If you go TWF, use the spiked shield as your off-hand weapon. If you're using Forgotten Realms, make it a Gold or Platinum Heavy Weapon (from Magic of Faerun) to boost its base damage. 3) Ftr/Barb with Greatspear. Power Attack, Cleave, Greatcleave, Lunging Strike, Monkey Grip, Specialization, Leap...don't forget to make your hide armor spikey. IMHO, Greatspear is one of the most versatile weapons out there: 2d6 base damage, 10' reach, 10 range increment, and counts as a Longspear for certain feats (see Complete Adventurer). 4) Paladin/Monk/Kensai. With the Ascetic Knight feat, your Monk and Paladin levels synergize nicely. With the Kensai PrCl, you'll boost the potency of your Unarmed Strikes as if they were magic weapons. If you consider Oriental Adventures Core (updated Dragon #318), the Sohei makes a nice sub for the Paladin or Cleric. They're a spiritually oriented warrior-cleric with fewer supernatural powers in favor of more combat prowess. 5) Dwarf Ftr/Ranger TWF specialist with Monkey Grip & Oversized TWF using paired Large sized Dire Picks. When he crits, he CRITS!
