[QUOTE="Hecabus, post: 830411, member: 9360"] I'm looking for ideas on a group of regents for a city of about 1,000 people. The campaign world has loads of retired adventurers and they often take positions of regents, where they act like honorary constables (think "posse"). Now the 11-12th level party walked into an insane asylum (running a modified "Where Madness Dwells") to free an old lady that was wrongly imprisoned there. While in the asylum, she was tortured by and went insane so the PCs cast heal on her. The heal cured her insanity, but also broke down all the mental barriers that protected her from the mind flayers that were torturing her and the other inmates (In my campaign heal cures insanity, but not necessarily chemical imbalances or post-traumatic stress disorders and it certainly doesn't cure painful memories). So you have a PC touch a calm, but insane women, who then crumbles to the floor screaming and crawling away from the cell door. The guard starts asking the party to leave, which they do, by dimension dooring into the cell and teleporting or word of recalling back to their base of operations, leaving only a druid to harrass. The guard calls for help and soon there is a procession of 4 guards hitting the druid with saps, doing minimal damage, and three calmed attack dogs as the druid walks to the entry gate, transforms into a snake and then a bird to escape. Now while most of the party waits at home base for the druid, they work on helping the old lady come to grip with her experiences in the asylum and try to get info. The druid walks to the inn they were staying at basically across the streets and waits, eventually getting attacked by the two Mind Flayers that are running the asylum and getting his poor leafy brain munched. The next afternoon the party returns to look for the druid, but the inn keeper doesn't remember the druid ever being in the inn (he still remembers the rest of the party). They go to the city's jail to see if he was arrested and they are placed under arrest, which they ignore (remember they broke into a public asylum and "kidnapped" a patient) and continue to argue with the snotty bureacrat at the jail. 10 minutes later, the regents show up..... I am looking for a challenging group of heroes to fight the party. The party is made up of the following (Note I run a completely open game, with all WoTC materials allowed hence the characters): Elf Wizard 5/Incantrix 6 Human Cleric 12 Psuedodragon Sorceror 10 Curst Rogue 5 or so Dead Druid 12 Human Cohort Psi Warrior 10 Sometimes the following characters show up, so I may need some extra regents to cover them: Half Celestial Dwarf Paladin 8 Human Psion 5/Constructor 5 Thanks!
