I thought it was entertaining for what it was. I enjoyed myself and consider my money well spent. I actually thought this was one of the better films of both franchises. There was an attempt at plot, the acting was decent. The kills weren'r overly gory. Neither were they very creative.

There are two fights between Freddy & Jason. The first fight Jason is drawn into Freddy's dreamland, and the second is in the "real" world. In the dream world, Freddy begins to win by "drowning" Jason. Apparently Jason is afraid of water so Freddy submerges him in it and Jason turns into a little boy in the dreamworld. The kids see Jason is "drowning", and contemplate giving him CPR to keep him alive so that he can take on Freddy in the real world. Then Jason wakes up. The kids pull the trick from the very first Nightmare on Elm Street, and they pull Freddy out of dream land. Freddy & Jason fight, they cut each other to shreds, the kids burn the dock they are on, and both go into the water.
At the very end, Jason walks out of the water holding Freddy's disembodied head. However, Freddy winks at the audience. So a tie I guess. Although one could surmise that Jason wins since the kids can take meds to suppress their dreams, and the whole point of the movie was that most of the kids had forgotten Freddy so he had become too weak to do anything.
