Looking for suggestions for good fantasy series to read

Saga of the Exiles
It's the Saga of the Pliocene Exile.

And it's science fantasy at best ("metapsychic" = magic). Or I should say "at it's best", because I positively adored the series, with it's crazy-quilt collage of scifi and epic fantasy tropes and great characters, particularly Aiken Drum.

Not sure if is could be concidered Epic, but the L.E. Mosdesitt Jr Recluce books are great in my opinion. They seem very odinary, but big things do happen in them. They can be read alone, or in series. He also write other series and genre, but these are the only I have read so far. (One great example is a story told from both sides in two different books, that were so well done, i did not know they were the same story, until i read a line I recognized from the earlier book I read.)
