The company I work for is currently looking for a new webhost due to our current webhost being a bunch of incompetent morons. Since there is a very large sea of possibilities out there, I though I might try asking for people's personal experiences in an attempt to whittle down the list of possibilities somewhat.
We need a host that has the following:
* At least 100MB of space. (I think we actually probably need less than that, but I figure to be on the generous side.)
* PHP/CGI/SQL
* Tech support reachable by telephone and e-mail
* At least 20 full POP e-mail addresses
* Reliable uptime
* Is their own registrar - one domain name (not crucial, but would be nice)
* Accessible via FTP program
* Customer administration panel
* Customer-accessible webstats page/logs (number of visits, referrers, and most-accessed pages, specifically)
I think that's probably it. We don't need e-commerce, so no need for virtual shopping carts or security certificates, and I think a dedicated server would be overkill for our relatively tiny site.
I already have experience with Dreamhost and ePerfect, so are there any webmasters/mistresses out there who have personal experience of which other webhosts they think are good (and which they think we should stay away from)?
Peace & Luv, Liz
