Looking to create an RPG soundboard

Hi Everyone,

I'm not sure if this post should be in the Computers forum, so I'll just post here. In two weeks, my group is going to come visit (from 5 and half hours away) and we had plans to run a marathon session of sorts. I was thinking of building a soundboard that contains sounds (critical hit & misses, sound effects, etc.) for the session. However, I'm having a hard time finding some good useable sounds.

Has anyone here used a sound program that they enjoy, or could possibly point me in the direction of some quality sound effects? Thanks in advance for your help!

I thoroughly enjoy using RPG SoundMixer. It contains some basic fantasy sound effects, and the website has various sound libraries.

As for aquireing fantasy sound effects in general, I get most of mine from computer games I own: The Baldur's Gate series, Neverwinter Nights, Morrowind and Medieval: Total War. The last two contain game sounds as plain .wav files that you can easily use. Baldur's Gate and Neverwinter Nights require software tools to extract the game sounds, but it is not too difficult.
