Hi all,
Title says it all. I'm looking for four mature players (roughly 25+) but will consider younger. Players who are brand new to 3.5 or veterans are welcomed. I am new to the Pathfinder system, but I am told that it runs just like 3.5 (basically it's what 3.5 should have been). The 3.5 Campaign setting will be in Forgotten Realms starting from level 1-3 (depending on class, I usually like to start wizards and such a little higher to make them a little more useful). If more people are interested in Pathfinder then I plan on starting a generic campaign setting until the new Shadowlands setting is released. If you are not familiar with it please check out the Kick Starter website for details. I have a lot of the materials for 3.5 since I've been playing that since 2003 and you're more than welcome to use my books if you wish. I only have the basics for Pathfinder, but again you are more than welcome to use them.
My vision is to play at least twice a month or more if people/RL can handle it. It will be on the weekends as I would like to get in a minimum six hour session. If we can meet more than twice a month then the sessions can be shorter. I also plan to run role-playing out of game through either a forum or email. Basically when you're not dungeon delving or trying to defeat the latest planetary threat you can do those little things you want to flush out your character. For example, if you are playing a wizard then this would be a good time to hire/haggle/look for those rare components you need to make that item you want. If you are a rogue this could be when you either loot a house, maybe get some intel on a important person to blackmail. This is a method to keep your character growth going, yet when we meet up there are fewer side adventures that would not include the other players.
A little bit about me. I started playing D&D when I was 15 (I'm now 39). I started with the old red box basic D&D, graduated to AD&D (1st edition (my first advent for AD&D was Ravenloft)), remember the release of AD&D 2nd edition and delved into 3.5 as soon as it came out. My opinions on 4th edition are just that, opinions. I have 4th edition books, but I did not like the new system so I never really got into it. I have not DM'd a Pathfinder game yet, but I've had many people/friends tell me it's 3.75 and everything that 3.5 should have been with the fixes so I am confident in running a campaign there.
Also as a side note, I love to play board games. I have MANY board games and if there is ever a weekend where people just want to kick back, BBQ and play board games, then I can accommodate.
If you are interested or have any questions please send me an email on the site here or re-post and I will get a hold of you to discuss further details.
