This actually sounds good enough to flesh out. A Lord of Lost Memories. Origin: Enigma Worshipers: None, Parasitic. He shows up/grants visions to lure followers of other gods to visit him. Purpose: Profer a memory that was lost in exchange for something he wants/needs. Power Level: Intermediate Power (power base is obviously somewhere else other than your own prime plane. he's just the cosmic spectator) Plot hooks: 1) A lantern archon arrives, asking one of the PCs to follow him to a designated area. When asked why, the Archon responds "To give you a chance to remember something you've lost." 2) An old library was liberated from the monsters and in 2 separate tomes it talks about a keeper of lost knowledge, and when the portal to the keeper opens. 3) They are handed a scavenger hunt by a patron/friendly wizard. Unbeknownst to them, the friendly wizard is doing the bidding of the Lord of Lost Memories. Once the scavenger hunt is complete the wizard gets his lost memory back. the scavenger hunt has to be fairly tough. the lost memory of the friendly wizard is...... (drum roll). He has amnesia, he was granted back his memories and remembers that he is evil, and in one of his experiments to create something trully nasty, the experiment exploded leaving him unconscious and without memory. (great for really deep plot hooks, when the main enemy they have been fighting all this time is just continuing the Wizard's plan and waiting for his return)
