It sits on land just above the wide but shallow Kivik River. A broad stone bridge spans the river just north of the town where the Coastal Road lies It is surrounded by farmland that sweeps up to the edges of the Thistlewood in the east and Burwood in the west.</p><p></p><p>Trade from Mittendien makes for busy docks and a bustling market in Lorindar. While dwarves dominate the town, humans, halflings, and other races can be seen in the market selling, buying, and trading. Lorindar is one of the most tolerant places for non-dwarves in Thoradur, especially for humans. Outside of Lorindar in the farmlands the feelings may be different, but inside of the alehourse of the lake shore town it is common to see dwarves drinking and laughing with a human trader or.</p><p></p><p><strong>Raven Row:</strong> On the eastern edge of town A row of old wooden pikes stand stained with many years of blood. The heads of criminals and bandits find their way to this row of pikes to be picked clean by birds, thus the name, Raven Row. Lately, due to the goblin raids in Eastern Falinus, the row has been expanded and now has dozens of pikes with goblin heads on it. Some have now come to call it Goblin Row. </p><p></p><p><strong>The Bootstrap:</strong> Inside the town in a dark corner can be found The Bootstrap. The Bootstrap is a fighting pit dug into the earth with rows along the edge for spectators to watch the entertainment played out below. The pit resides under a stone roofed building with a simple faded wooden sign of a boot with a loose strap. Fighters fight each other in several kinds of matches ranging from tournaments with wooden weapons to <em>death matches</em> where clerics heal you if they can get to you quick enough after you go down. The most common type of match is the <em>‘til the cleric says stop</em> match. Healing is always free of charge.</p><p></p><p><strong>The Outpost:</strong> Near the market is a broad stone tower that looks formidable but is really a smoky inn. Redbeard Tumbledown, a retired Border-knight, owns the Outpost. After a long and illustrious carrier fighting orcs on the northern border, Redbeard built The Outpost, opened it for business, and got fat. The Outpost has been rooming and boarding patrons for nearly ninety years. Other inns in Lorindar: The Whetstone, Breson’s Handaxe, Lake’s End, and The Bearded Shore. </p><p></p><p><strong>Temples: </strong> The most popular temple, like other dwarven towns, is the Temple of Galvar. The head cleric, Olin Gree (clr 9), is a pleasant round-bellied dwarf who has seen his share of fighting and prefers to administrate this sturdy house of worship. There are a dozen clerics under him, many of which go out with duties to further the cause of dwarvendom. Any dwarf can be <em>raised</em> here unless he performs some egregious act.
